Transitional Services, Inc. (TSI) is a nonprofit organization servicing over 400 people annually in Allegheny County. Committed to quality services, TSI received its fifth consecutive three-year accreditation on December 2009 from the nationally recognized organization CARF (The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission). Though accreditation is not required, TSI submitted to the process because of its desire to be a quality organization responsible to the needs of those with mental disabilities.
Honoring a Passionate Supporter Dr. Robyn Dawes

Dr. Robyn Dawes
Many at TSI were saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Robyn Dawes on December 14, 2010. It is apparent to those of us at TSI that Dr. Dawes had a passion for the world of psychology. His passion led him to be a supporter of TSI and our Mission to improve the quality of life of the individuals we serve. Through his support of a family member in one of TSI’s programs several years ago, he learned a great deal about the organization and witnessed how it helps people to recover from mental health disabilities and go on to lead meaningful lives. He often said that TSI’s program was “the only one that had been able to help his family member to learn the skills necessary to live safely and independently in the community.” This experience moved him to become one of TSI’s most devoted and generous contributors. TSI is honored to have received Dr. Dawes’ generosity and inspired by knowing that he believed in our Mission and supported its advancement.
